MFA in Acting - How to Apply
NOTE: The MFA Acting Program at UT recruits actors every other year in odd-numbered years. The next class will enter in Fall 2009. Recruitment for this class will be in January and February of 2009. Online applications for admission will be available in Fall 2008.
Auditions
Auditions will take place in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Knoxville.
- Graduate School Requirements:
- Graduate Application for Admission
Note: GRE exam not required.
- Department of Theatre Requirements:
- A current photograph of you and a professional resume.
- A brief essay (2 pages maximum) about your commitment
to a life in art, your interest in training, and your creative
and career interests.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- The Application for Graduate Assistantship
(note: the completed application should be emailed to
tweber@utk.edu) Adobe Reader will only enable you to print the completed form for your records, not save the digital file.
- A current photograph of you and a professional resume.
An Audition
Auditions will take place as part of the URTA NUAIs in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, for entry into the program in the Fall term of 2009. If you are not participating in the URTAs, private auditions can be arranged in
the URTA cities by contacting Terry Weber at tweber@utk.edu or
865-974-7062. Auditions can also be scheduled on campus in Knoxville, by contacting Prof. Weber.
